Anne - as the recent owner of an '01 Viggen vert I can tell you it is an awesome car! It looks beautiful, runs like hell, is comfortable, gets surprisingly good gas mileage - especially on the highway, and the top goes down! You can't go wrong with the warranty, however it sounds like the price you quoted is high retail. I work on the financing side of the car industry and can tell you that Saabs have a notoriously 'soft' book value. What this means is that the prices that they change hands for are usually well under the value that the book (Kelley or NADA) gives them. If you plan too keep the car a long time it won't hurt you to pay a little too much, but if you are the kind of person that gets a new car every couple of years you will find yourself upsidedown in your loan. What all this means is that fourtunately for you this is a buyers market! Start negotiating low and never pay retail. I bought my '01 Viggen vert for $22,500 so there are deals to be had out there.
