Update on Viggen Wheels - Opinions? Posted by Todd [Email] (#958) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Todd) on Mon, 4 Oct 2004 08:02:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 02 Viggen Conv. is now riding like a Mack truck. Up until this point, I have refused to give in a buy new wheels as my opinion was that Saab put too soft a wheel on this car. "Avoid potholes" my foot! It is impossible to avoid bumps forever. I have friends with 911's, Vette's, G35's, etc, and they never had this problem to this extent! So anyway, that's my venting, and I probably have three, at least, bent wheels now.
So, my dealer has BBS RK2's, two-piece, in stock slightly used. They came off a 04 vehicle and apparently these wheels were an option for a short period of time. My lease is up in March 2005, so I'm now thinking about buying this car out and having these wheels put on it. The dealer says they are much stronger than the Viggen wheels and they have 225's on them currently, instead of the 215's.
Does anyone have any experience with these wheels as far as strength? He wants $1400 for the set-up, including the tires with less than 2K miles. I'm hoping he'll give me something on the trade as I have brand new tires on my bent wheels!
P.S. My lease buyout is $21.9K, for an 02 Viggen Convert, black on tan with 29K miles currently. I'm thinking this will be a good deal come spring time (although I'm still considering the TL and the 298HP G35).
Let me know your thoughts! thanks
