2002 Saab 9-3se.
Since my windshield was heavily pitted from 60K of mostly HWY driving in Michigan/Ontario, I took the excuse of a small crack (from HWY rocks) and had my windshield replaced under insurance.
I went to the insurance co. recommended Safelite auto glass.
I had a chance to speak with the tech who did the work and told him to make sure "enough glue is used" as my car was prone to windnoise. He pointed out that my side trim was loose (easy to wiggle) and was probably a major cause of wind noise.
Anyways, 2 hours later, I have a new shinny windshield with no pits.
The tech also reglued the side trims tight and flush (as oppose to the way it was originally). The difference was very noticable!! I now hear my front speakers much more clearly. So much that I can lower the volume on my kenwood by more 2 levels! However, my side window flutter was more pronounced...(I know it was side window because I can change the sound level by pressing on it...)
Anyways, it was a worthwhile upgrade/fix!
