Just got back from the beach yesterday. First long trip in the car. The car was very smooth, very quiet. Definitely the smoothest riding car I have ever owned, and not "American" smooth (yaws like a boat), either. Smooth and comfortable, yet taught enough to tell you were driving on a road. Avg about 31 mpg on both trips, about 250 miles each way, ACC on air conditioning the whole way (had to, unbearably hot and high dewpoint (70+F) - ugh!).
I read the post below about how the headlight wipers will be gone in 2002. Kind of sad. Due to all the seaspray, I had to use the washers quite a bit. Once at a stoplight I used the washers and the crew in the car next to me were all pointing and looking at the headlight wipers. Very cool. The coolest thing of all was not seeing another car like mine in the 500+ miles we drove, except on the final leg I see another 9-5 exactly (same color, too) like mine. Oh, one other thing, its very easy to get caught in one of the infamous South Carolina speed traps in this car. With no cruise on its very easy to 'accidentally' exceed the speed limit. Luckily, the troopers got the other guys before I got there, so they were busy writing someone else a ticket :-). I love my car!
