Let me be the first to admit I must be the person Saab and other manufacturers were thinking of when coming up with 'idiot lights'. I had mentioned previously that the oil pressure "gauge" was sitting on low instead of the middle. I must have been smokin' something as when I looked at it later the memory came back to me about how I've always wished the car had a real oil pressure gauge and not just the idiot light and what I had been looking at as being on low and not in the middle range was the water temp. Real bright move.
In reality there was never a time that the oil light was on, nor any other indicator light other than the check engine light, which was truely on constantly from the time I was able to start the car after it died to today when it went off while driving. I'll be taking the car into an independent shop tomorrow morning to see if there is anything a diagnostic tool can pick up on the problem.
