I'm the guy who bought the Aero Wagon from Mike. It was one a decision was sparked by a) this is our primary vehicle b) things started to need costly repairs c) the V6 was my third Saab (99 and 900T were the prior Saabs) and I missed the feel of the Saab turbo kicking in on a Saab engine versus a throaty GM V6 that started becoming an annuity for the mechanics at the 75k mark. Until then, it was a great and fun car -- one of the very first Saab Wagons sold at the time. The Saab Wagon remains the largest and most fun wagon to drive. It's the best alternative to an SUV if SUV's aren't your thing. It's cheaper (comparably equipped) than some of the alternative wagons, most of which are smaller. Decided to go with a 3 year lease because a)I think, unless he fooled me -- and unless my research was wrong -- I got a ridiculously good deal on the car with no dealer hassles or attempts to upsell me to all sorts of extras in a little office with a hidden speaker b) the interest rate on the loan was next to nothing c) after three years I will have owned a Saab wagon for nine years d) kids will be out of the house and I can reassess whether I still need/want a wagon! This is MY primary car so I need reliability. I love Saabs and would still have my 89 900T had it not drivin itse'f off a cliff. Long, sad story. Thrilled to have this car, Mike, and Saabnet is truly a great resource.
