OK, couple things - if you aren't sure about checking the mechanical condition of your suspension components, get a mechanic to do it. You do not want to miss something. I do full fluid maintenance on my car before and after any track service. You will wear things out considerably faster with track use, particularly tires and brakes - if you're not, you aren't driving fast enough.
I'd go full fuel tank and let it run down (not too low) to see how the weight change affects the handling.
Slow in, fast out is fine, but it has it's limitations, particularly in a front-driver. Carrying momemtum is the key to speed unless you've got 350hp+ under your right foot. Be smooth....
All that Schumacher stuff - IMHO, forget it. If you're trying to think about all that while driving, you're going to miss fundamentals like brake points and apexes. And if you really want to lurch around, try left-foot braking. LFB is one of the most difficult skills to control, and you're going to have more than enough to think about without it.
And above all, don't ball up you car. Nobody likes bringing a broken car back from the track.
