The FM antenna is in the rear defroster. There is a filter that removes interference from the defroster. If the FM reception is poor only when the defroster is on, it may be time to replace the filter.
I'll have to look at my Haynes manual for the switch access method, but I believe that if you remove the radio, then the ACC, then the ashtray, you'll find a pair of screws that hold down the front edge of the 'wood' inlay.
