What Tools for Changing Wheels?

I've read through a bunch of the other posts here and in the general BB about what tools to use for basic wheel changing. I'm just interested in wheel changes; will never be going under the car. Does the following list sound right for a novice DIY'er?
1. Craftsman 1/2 inch clicking torque wrench 30-150 lbs; $65 at Sears
2. 2 1/4 ton floor jack, also at sears, $40
Questions:
one jack or two?
do i need jack stands if I will never go under the car?
will i need a jack adapter? a 2x4 with a double groove or a hockey puck?
Thanks
