You may need to check the connections which are underneath the airbag unit. To remove that, there are two cosmetic tabs on either side of the steering wheel. Pop those off, and you'll see two star screws which can be removed by the screw driver you have in your jack kit in your trunk or another star screwdriver.
Once you remove the unit, you'll see three wire, one for the airbag, one for the horn, and one for the controls. Check to see that they are all plugged in. You'll see a circular unit behind the steering wheel if you remove that, and that is the control for the radio. That might have gone bad and I think a new one is around $80 or so. An easy replacement.
JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOUR KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION WHEN YOU DO ANY OF THIS AS IT MAY ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG. SOME PEOPLE SAY TO DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF THE BATTERY BEFORE DOING ANY OF THIS. YOUR CHOICE.
ALSO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU DO GET THE AIRBAG UNIT READY TO PULL OUT THAT YOU DO IT SLOWLY BECAUSE IF YOU PULL IT OUT TOO SWIFTLY, YOU COULD DAMAGE THE CONTROL WIRES BY PULLING THEM OUT. THEY ARE DELICATE. TRUST ME AS I BROKE ONE AND HAD TO RESODER THE WIRE. LUCKILY IT WAS NOT THE AIRBAG WIRE!!!
You can also check the board for steering wheel replacement or "steering wheel" where others have given directions to revome the wheel.
GOOD LUCK.
