Sort of what I was thinking…so do you think 10W40 extended performance (EP) is now the oil of choice. It is certainly thin enough for winter driving, as long as you are not in really cold climates (rare artic air may make it thick at startup). Seems it does one better than the 5W40 and has the A3/B3 spec called for by Saab. I think the 04+ require the 0W40, but for 02-03 this is not the case. Only problem is these new EP oils are expensive (and 10W40 is tough to find), especially at a 5K drain interval.
