Tranny/torque converter jolt?

I sometimes (most notable in hills) get a jolt sensation when running about 68-75mph. Car is in 5th the whole time. Veteran tech claims this is the torque converter locking/unlocking can be felt, but should not feel harsh and that it is more notable under engine/tranny loading such as in hills. The jolt seems very harsh to me…like a bad up shift…car kind of feels like it drops out from under me. Has anyone else experienced this. It is a real pain to leave the car overnight since this dealer is not anywhere near my home. Car is an 03 Aero SW and has had the tranny software updated twice.
