On Long Island, but I do lots of city driving. Things to consider:
Buy what you can afford. Don't rush and make the wrong decision.
Do you want and will you use the Aero Academy? Makes the Aero a better deal if you take advantage of this. It’s not worth the $1350 they charge for a guest but certainly worth about $700. A lot of fun and you learn about the same car you drive which is unique.
Which seats do you prefer? I find the Aero seats more comfortable…important for sitting in traffic.
Do you only drive in the NYC area? Aero is more fun outside the city.
Do you mind a little harshness? 17” wheels and tires with sports suspension can be a little harsh, but not unbearable and you can always change to 16” wheels if you find it impossible. Either way, potholes will get some wheels damaged at some point. Just hope you won’t have to replace and can live with the damage.
Do you want uniqueness? I see lots of Arcs, but almost no Aeros.
I would think the Aero holds its value a little better, i.e., whatever you pay more you should be able to get back (at least most of it) at the sale. I am not positive about this, but I’m sure someone will chime in.
Consider the Aero being slightly lower. This can be an issue when parking near high curbs so be careful.
How long are you planning to keep the car? Have you considered used and/or demo/managers car with/without CPO?
I’d get the Aero, but then I am biased since I already made this decision. I never even considered the Arc. First drive in one was a loaner and it didn’t feel the same as the Aero. Less punch and not as comfy seats.
Good luck.
