Unless you get very little snow I would suggest 215/55/16 max. in order to "cut through" the snow.
If the snow is there "permanently" I would get Nokians og Gislaveds (Nordic conditions).
If, however (as seems to be the case), you get snow regularly but it's cleared relatively promptly and thus you often get to drive on dry roads (Central European conditions) both your suggestions sound OK from what I've heard.
In winter I drive mostly in Luxembourg, Germany and Denmark (which means sometimes snow, sometimes rain, sometimes sludge, sometimes dry roads) and I have been extremely satisfied with my Pirelli 210 WinterSports (215/55/16). They work well in snow, seem better than the Michelin Pilots in the rain (!) and are at least as quiet in the dry ... it almost seems a shame to change back in spring ;o)
BTW they're on Saab Alu 26 10-spoke 16" rims.
