Yes, you can do this. You won't achieve the levels of boost that the Aero does, but it will give you more power. I did this for several thousand miles a few years ago, then sold the unit to another board member. The only issue I had was some hard starting on cold start. I switched to the NGK precious metal plugs that the Aero uses and all was fine. Do a search for this and you should find some old posts about it.
