A/C Recharge - Help

The A/C in my 2002 9-5 was not nearly cold enough last week, so I figued I'd do a recharge with R134a (worked like a charm on my 97 Volvo). Now it's just blowing warm air and I also get an occasional "groan" when I shut it off (expansion valve??). Checked ACC codes and they are 0. Also, all the posts on here say the low side port is behind/below the right headlamp and you have to remove the headlamp assembly to access. My low side port is easy to access along right side of engine compartment (at least I hope this was the right port). Help!
