Hello,
I recently purchase Avon Tech 550's for my'02 Aero Sedan in June. These tyres are really sticky and stiff. My local tyre guy won't put anymore of these on for me. I put about 7k and destoyed the front due to high pressure (44psi)and totally cupped the rears on the inside. Tirerack was kind to offer 2 more to replace the fronts. I had too much pressure up front, but the back were within SAAB spec.
I put the rears in front and the new ones in back because I thought the rears were good. The old rears were totally cupped on the inside.
The new rear on the driver side was cupped after 1500 miles and the passenger side is OK. The shocks are good to the bounce test as well as 120 mph runs to prove they are good (67k on the car).
I will have a 4 wheel alignmnet done at SAAB due to information on alignment from this site. Pressure for the rears is at 32 psi. I paln on rotating every 5k from now on. I do have a gauge in my trunk and use it often. Obviously the 44 was too high and same on me. Any thoughts besides the shocks, alignment, pressure? I don't have enough time or cash to keep throwing away tyres. Thanks.
