Hi Brett,
I think you are trouble there. As I recall, you are in the 170,000 mi. region on this car so it is way out of warranty even the 8 year 80,000 mi. version as it is whichever comes first. So either you are the previous owner gets to buy the new cat. As to how difficult it is to change, the answer as far as I can tell in not very. I do believe it drops straight down from the bottom of the car without interference with sub-frames, etc. The only difficulty will be getting all the bolts undone. Exhaust bolts tend to be dirty and often rusted. Also the access to the bolts connecting to the exhaust manifold my be a bit limited but that I'm not too sure of. You also get to take out and reinstall two O2 sensors and these often are hard to remove too. If you have patience and some penetrating oil, you should be able to get it done without major conplications.
