I'm not a fan of auto boxes, but I have to say this new 5-speed was really something. Normal and sport modes give very highly contrasting performance, with a positive but relaxed drive in 'normal' mode, and extreeeeeme!! fun in 'sport' mode. Surprised to see an auto box that can handle this level of power so well. I always preferred a stick -- but I'd have a new 5-speed auto Aero without hesitation.
Everything else about the car, especially the seats, but including the metallic effect dash works really well in the flesh. The chassis mods are also very apparent with noticeably greater feedback through the steering, and a positive ride overall. The 'tailwag' Saab acknowledged in previous models when manouvering abruptly from left to right at speed has been reduced but not eliminated, though it isn't bad. In fact, very nice car all round and, for a 'facelift', a significant improvement overall, I think.
But then, isn't Epsilon only a couple of years away?
