Having the same concern, I use a product called Kreen to clean the engine 1000k before I change the oil. I add 16oz to the oil. The oil uptake ports are too small,and too high on the low friction engines and may get plugged from blow by, the turbo gets too hot when you pretend that you are driving a jet, etc. If you have a standard and drive highway miles to commute you should be fine. If you have an automatic and drive short, stop and go, you may want to change the oil every 3k. Use only synthetic oil, AMS or Mobil 1. Ams has more detergent than mobil 1. Sludge is a significant problem that SAAB will have to address. These are problems I am willing to have to have to drive a fun car. Remember, all cars have problems, you have to decide what set of problems you can deal with. Just like women.
