A little white smoke at startup is not necessarily a bad thing. It usually just indicates moisture in the exhaust system. If it persists for a while or your coolant level is going down regularly then it's something to worry about.
Heck, my ex-girlfriend had a Toyota Camry (supposedly the most reliable car on the road right?) and it ALWAYS sent out a puff of white smoke at startup. She bitched and moaned at the dealer and they said it's basically normal.
