Hi. I'm still working out my mystery too. I've ruled out the starter relay by swapping it with other relays. A few times I was able to start in Neutral, which makes me suspect the neutral safety switch. I'm pretty sure it's the NPS at this point. I was able to start the car by bypassing the starter relay (I think it's pins 30 and 87) but want to test that again a few more times to be sure it was not a coincidence. Once I was also able to start the car after tapping the NPS with a screwdriver. I'll probably install a bypass switch at the NPS to test it.
At this point, I actually look forward to having the car no-start. It's only doing it once or twice a week so it's difficult to make progress.
How hard is it to replace the NPS?
