'99 9-5 4-cylinder automatic. This is my first and last SAAB. I am very disappointed in reliability and the massive amount of trips back to the dealer for service (more than 40 miles round trip). So far the dealer has fixed everything sometimes more than once for each repair and 6 times for the trunk lid. The car was bought for its head room (no sun roof of course) and its reputation for reliabilty and strength (both wrong). I am pleased with its performance and gas mileage (29 mpg for 51K). The warranty period is over and I am really worried. For example, I am on my 3rd set of headlights and 3rd fog light in 30 months not to mention a new water pump, 2 new computers, bad spark plugs and inoperable trunk lid among other things. I've never had this much trouble with a new car before. I am both surprised and dumbfounded by the loyality and ethusiasm Saab owners exhibit. Do they put up with similar situations? Any comments are appreciated. My most probable course of action is to trade the Saab and get something else that (1) I fit in and (2) is reliable.
