That kind of time difference is about all there is nowadays due to the tremendous improvements in automatics versus manuals, where there isn't a heck of a lot of technology to draw on.3-4 tenths of a second can be felt, but the bigger wuestion might be,how does each car feel at the speed ranges where you really want it to matter. Very few of us sit there at a standstill and actually go to 60 and stay there. But lots of us probably want to be able to pull out at 50 to pass without having to manually downshift one or two gears just to get up to the engines maximum torque plateau. this is where automatics have a big advantage. Rapid response to a drivers input is probably more important than dragstrip time slips for most of us.
