The best way to check for a bad bearing is to lift the tires off the ground, grab the coil spring with your hand and spin the wheel. If the wheel bearing has issues you will feel a vibration and sometimes hear a grouling sound when you spin the tire. Make sure that the car is in Nuetral when you check this. You can also shake the wheel side to side/up and down to check for play. I believe that the bearing on the 9-5 is pressed into the knuckle, so it's not a good job for the DIY'er.
