Douglas,
My Recirc stopped working. Before I actually knew that the little motor that controls the motor was burned out, or that it actually existed as its own entity, I was physically maniplating the recirc flaps, even to the point where I heard the teeth cracking over the motor's teeth.
Long story short, it's pretty tough to break the teeth on the recirc flaps. You might have disconnected the wire that powers the recirc motor which is on the side of where you replace the cabin air filter. It's kind of tough to see it, but if you look closely you'll spot it. It's held in with two hex screws if I remember correctly. I pulled it out, tested it, it was shot. I replaced just that motor (don't have the part number on me) and after installing the new one and recalibrating the system, it worked fine. I think the recirc motor costs around $150 or so.
