questions about 9-5 wagons (potential purchase)

Hello all,
After recovering from a rather expensive trip to the mechanics (warped head) on my venerable 1997 9000 CSE, I am considering trading it in on a newer saab - namely a 9-5 aero wagon.
There are a couple of nice condition ones in my area for around $15K or so, both automatics (my 9000 is a 5-speed). One is a 2001 and the other a 2002. The 2001 has around 50K, the 2002 has around 80K.
So my questions:
1. Will I be able to enjoy driving an automatic saab, after years of 5-speed goodness?
2. How are the automatic transmissions on 9-5's? Do they perform well? Are they well-built (unlike, say 9000 automatics)?
3. Is the 5-speed automatic introduced in 2002 (and the extra torque and hp), worth going for?
4. Is the older 4-speed automatic transmission still fun and competent?
5. Are there things I should look for as inherent weak spots in these era 9-5's?
I appreciate any info, comments or suggestions
Regards,
Derek
