Anybody experienced the new ESP yet? I took an
Aero wagon out for a test drive this weekend.
Every time I took a sharp corner at around 25mph
there was a massive thump from the front end,
which could be felt through the steering wheel.
No front wheel slip, just one hell of a bang. So
I turned the ESP off and did the same manouver:
slight wheel skid but no banging or thumping.

Question: could this really be down to the ESP
engaging, and is it normal for a vehicle stability
programme to react so aggressively to counter
slight wheel slippage at such low speeds? I've
never driven a car with any form of electronic
stability programme so this may well be perfectly
normal. However, if it is, it detracts considerably
from what is otherwise an impressive ride.
