After owning our 9-5 lpt 364 days, I changed my first headlight bulb today at 29 000 kilometers. Dealer was nice enough to do it on warranty, although the coverage on bulbs is 1 year/26 000 kilometers. The Service manager told me they install Philips H7 and that he tried a less expensive brand but they systematically went after a month or so. On another popular subject on this board, brake dust, he had interesting news. As many of you might know, in Canada Saabs are sold through the Saturn Saab Isuzu network (SSI), which in many ways has proven interesting. (Did you know that a Saab cargo net is a give away compared to a comparable unit from Saturn?) On the other hand, you can buy Saturn 15" steel wheels for winter tires for a song. Better yet, when it's time to change your brakes, make sure you buy GENUINE Saab rotors etc...,at a Saturn dealer, for a fraction of the price. The opposite is also true so if you want to give your Saturn L a distinctive look, bolt on Saab Mag wheels on it ! Back to the ever-present brake dust saga, the good news is that AC Delco has just put out ceramic brake pads for the Saturn L, at what seems to be a reasonable price. I have not looked into it futher as my brakes are still plenty good, but I think it's a good lead. I doubt you will find them at a Saab only dealership, as it seems Saab does not use AC Delco parts (yet).
