I moved from 9000's to a 9-5 wagon...42 mos lease in '99. After about 15mos, I was completely bored..couldn't wait for lease end. The 9-5 is a "typical" sedan in all respects..statistically a "pretty good" car. It is larger than a 9000, and smaller inside. It "rides" better at the expense of the "twisties". Mine was constantly in the shop...more than any 9000 I ever owned til my 13 yo '91(evential replacement). If you enjoy the 9000, keep 'er going as long as possible. There really is NO replacement at this time.
If time permitted, I would have kept my '91. The costs were consistant with a new car...I don't have the time to spend at the shop right now. I think if you look around you'll find that there are lots of "typical" sedans available now that are far more "reliable" and offer better combos of styling/power/handling/utility. There is even a "sport" Camry now!! The intial cost may be higher, but the residual value more than makes up the difference.
my 2 cents worth...
Chris defected for now....
