Thanks 8AA2YM. I had the battery out yesterday to inspect as well, and I didn't see any visible signs of cracking, so it's tough to know. However, it did look fairly old - I'll bet it's the original. Sounds as though I might replace the torque rod mount and risk the new one being smashed if I don't replace that one as well.
In addition, I also noticed you submitted the DIY on engine mounts - very nice. Any other ideas as to how I might support the engine when I don't have a hydraulic engine lift available? I'm located in Denver :)
