it can cut the engine sometimes when you are not expecting it. If you modulate the gas well, then TCS rarely kicks in, and, when it does, it works well. It's when you stomp on the gas (for instance, to avoid an oncoming car) and you lose traction that the TCS scares me because it can cut power to the engine. This can also happen if a wheel leaves the ground. It's disconcerting to me enough that I'd rather have to push TCS on instead of trying to remember to turn it off. That way, I could turn it on when it rains or snows, but leave it off the majority of the time.
