Just drove away from getting creamed from behind while at a complete stop -- in the fast lane of I-75/I-85 -- in the heart of downtown Atlanta.
I've never been so impressed with any Saab I've owned. The trunk was heroic -- sacrificing itself for the safety of myself and whoever might have been in the back seat.
Of course the full-size SUV that hit me -- while doing over 50 mph --fared much better. Yes, I said full-size SUV -- going full speed.
As much as I credit SAAB and its engineers for helping me avoid almost certain injury. I am especially thankful to my Aero Acadamy instructors.
It's been almost 2 years since I attended the acadamy but I still sit way up on top of the steering wheel with the head rest nearly touching the back of my bald head.
Had I been sitting in that cool, laid-back position that served me so well for over 14 years, I would be in the back of an ambulance with a concussion right now.
Thanks guys.
(If you have an email for the Acadamy crew, please feel free to pass my gratitude along to them.)
I'll post some pictures later....I'm a little shakey and my beer is getting warm.
