I will choose the V6 again, because I like the extra power and I think it is more refined. The 9-5 is a fairly heavy car and I think it needs the V6. While many people on this board express a strong dislike of the V6 there are those of us who like it. I have driven the 2.3LPT (for 3 weeks once when my 9-3 was in the shop) and there is no question in my mind that the V6 has considerably more power. Also, on the highway, there is no hesitation or straining at all with the V6-very fast, very quickly. I also prefer the little extras like the afterheater-only with the V6. The Aero would probably be fine with the extra horsepower, but I am just not that fond of the "sporty" look. Also, once you add all the "extras" to the Linear, you might be surprised how little difference there is in price-especially if you consider the ventilated seats and bixenon lights-both of which are only available on the Arc. The V6 also has a higher risidual value (in lease terms) which I assume translates to better resale value in a trade in.
