Won't set a code Posted by keegs [Email] (#216) [Profile/Gallery] (more from keegs) on Sun, 21 Jan 2007 20:51:04 In Reply to: Rear Defroster, not fuse, plugged in, no codes. No work, fusionrx, Sun, 21 Jan 2007 19:41:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This is not the kind of failure that sets a code - it's not monitored by the ECU.
Anyway, if you can, try putting a voltmeter to the connections on the window (just pull them off the tabs that are bonded to the window). If you get no voltage when you're sure it should be on, then it probably isn't the heater elements but something else (there are many things to check at this point).
If you do get voltage then either it's not getting to the elements or the elements themselves are not working. Try inspecting those bonded connectors and the lines themselves.
The fact that none of the elements work should mean power is not getting to the window.
