I've had my 01 Aero since 2004 and 42K. I've put 30K on it since I bought it. I have done the front brakes, the tires, a DIC (covered by Saab.... eventually), the 50K service, and some oil changes. Yeah, the 50K service wasn't cheap (even at an independent), but this car has done quite well. I would expect to start seeing some fixes in my future though. Probably ball joints, bearings, etc.
I haven't put a penny into anything that wasn't a maint. item. Everything I've done was items that wear out, or items that are preventitive.
Enjoy your Saab. They are great, comfortable, safe cars. If you want to drive 300K without putting a dime into it, buy a Camrey. But if you want to enjoy a bit of driving you've got the right car.
Have fun! Don't worry! And when something goes wrong, search this board. There are fixes on here that will save you $1995 on a $2000 repair!
Liam :-)
