Dealers go for the timing cover reseal since it is more money involved compared to just doing the head gasket.
The cylinder head has to be removed anyway so they kind of catch two fly's with one swat.
It's a tough call what to do when "in there".
Seeing that these newer engines have a tendency to wear out the timing chain more than what they used to, I would opt for at least the timing and balance chain together with all plastic guides and the balance chain tensioner even if it had to come out of your own pocket.
Keep in mind that a dealer has to answer to the "higher ups" so they can't just throw parts in for good measure if they can't prove they are worn.
The extension of the timing chain tensioner is a measure for how worn the chain and guides are.
I assume they also will drop the oil pan so that will hopefully get the oil pickup cleaned out too and then you are good to go.
