I'm getting "TAIL LIGHT FAILURE" and "BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE" displaying on the SID, essentially at start-up. When I set on the brake pedal before I engage the transmission into drive, the brake message displays. Within 2 minutes, the tail light message displays. I have looked at the lights and they do work. I changed all rear tail light bulbs (#1157 brake lights, #7508 tail lights, and the amber directionals)and saw that their sockets were very clean with absolutely no corrosion. This has been occurring for a few weeks now.

What I recently did was fix the SID because many, and sometimes most pixels were not displaying. I used the dense foam fix and all pixels work now. What is now very new is that signalling for a left turn causes the blinkers to click rapidly; the right side works as it should. Even though the left signals rapidly, the front and rear lights blink.....but rapidly. By the way, the left fast-blinking directionals are not just at start-up; they're consistent. The flashers works as they should too, but I haven't had them flashing for more than 10 seconds to know if they eventually would have problems.

So, I've got 2 problems here,(A)SID light failure messages, and (B) rapid-fire left directionals. Does anyone have a suggestion what this could be? Years ago, American cars had 2 small 1 1/2" - 2" aluminum-looking cylinders or cans under the dashboard; one was for the directionals and the other was for the hazard flashers. You just plugged and unplugged them. Do these cars have these devices? If so, where would I find them?

Thanks for any help.
