Strut Bearing Cause of Knocking?

I have had a knocking sound coming from the passenger side front of my car that only is heard when traveling slowly with the wheel turned. I had a tech take a ride with me and he thought it is likely a bad strut bearing. He has looked under the car and tightened things up but didnt notice any issues. Tomorrow, he is going to check out the bearing to see if it is in fact bad. Does this sound right? Is this a common problem on the 9-5's? I corner very aggresively with my car. Would that cause more wear? It is a 2003 9-5 Aero with 60k.
