I am told that that European code headlights on the 9-5 use the same H7 bulbs as in the US DOT specification headlights; the difference in the European headlights is in the lenses and (possibly the reflectors). European code headlamps in the US cost about $450/pair, so you may want to see what the price is over there. One truly strange idiosyncracy to keep in mind though, is that the European code headlights have a larger diameter vertical aim screw (where it twist-locks into the rear housing of the lamp) than the US lights. So the US vertical aim screw will not fit. The solution to this problem is to obtain a vertical aim screw from a 1994-up 900 or a 9-3. Unfortunately Saab does not sell these babies separately, so you would have to canvas some auto body shops to see if they have any of these parts from a NG900 or a 9-3 whose headlight is being replaced.
