I question the fixmysaab proceedure.

The instructions on the fixmysaab site are excellent but I do question how he cut and placed the upper foam seal. The new filter comes with the foam strip with pre-cut holes for the coolant lines. If you tape the strip to the filter I don't see how it can make a proper seal when you slide in the filter. I put the film strip in first so that it is held up by the pipes then slide in the filter while insuring that the strip stays in place and the exposed end is not dragged in.
