While headed to Maine for the weekend with the family my aero started losing boost about 1.5 hours into the trip. Check engine light had been on for about a week with no change in performance. I started to accelerate hard to pass a car and thought I had heard a loud pop, but the music was up as well,so not sure. Anyway, nothing seemed noticeable right away then gradually the boost started to go away, about half into the yellow, then lower and lower till it kicked into limp home mode. No cruise control but the ac still seemed to blow cold which shouldn't happen in limp home.Idles completely perfect!?? Checked all vacuum hoses and every clamp over and over from intercooler to tb and everywhere in between. Nothing. Drove it 3 hours home 2 days later. What a dog...with 3 cylinder cars blowing me away. not to mention 35mph up hills with flashers in a 55 zone. Got home ,did a ton of searches here. Clear the codes and then Click the TB out of limp home. Take it for a ride. Nothing. So now I think the turbo is siezed up,take everything apart. Propeller spins fine. Put it back together and try to pull of wastegate hose. Reset limp home again because it just keeps triggering. Take it for a ride. Nothing. Changed plugs then reset limp. No Change. In the a.m. I think I will try to take the downpipe off at the turbo (maybe a clogged catalytic converter ??) 80,000 mile on the car. Now the cel light won't come back on. therefore I can't get the codes read. Correct?? Another thought was maybe Air absolute pressure sensor? Any idea or advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks a ton.
