My Auto-RX experience

When my indy checked out my new-to-me Aero last January, he looked around the throttle body area and pronounced "Some evidence of sludging, but nothing to be worried about." I talked to him about using Auto RX and he discouraged it (not Auto RX specifically, but chemical engine cleaning in general) as either, in the best case, not dong anything, and in the worst case ruining the engine.
But what does he know! I went ahead and bought it anyway, although it took me about 6 months to get up the nerve to use it. I finally but it in in June, drove a little over 1,300 miles, and decided to drain it out today (I didn't want to leave it in too long ofr fear it might corrode the seals) and begin the rinse cycle. I carefully cleaned the drain pan because I wanted to see what was in the Auto RX/Mobil 1 0-40 mixture.
In short, the old oil didn't look any different that normal. It was dark brown, but no chuncks, solid material or grains of anything. I decided to hack saw the filter apart to see if it caught anything, but it was pretty clean too. So, either (1) my enigne had very little if any sludging, (2) Auto RX works as advertized and liquifies the sludge, or (3) Auto RX doesn't do anything. Not very helpful, but that's the story.
