I got in my car to go to the grocery store this morning. Turned the key, and instead of a starting engine, I got lots of clicking noises and blinking/flashing lights from the dash (whole dash including odo, etc. was blinking). I turned the key back to the off position, and tried to restart. Nothing.
Now, with key in the "lock" or "off" position (and even with key removed), there is a clicking sound coming from the ESP box. If I depress the brake pedal, the clicking stops. Also, if I turn the key to the "on" position, the clicking stops. However, there is apparently no power to anything. Car won't start, no lights, no power locks/windows. Even the remote key doesn't work. Sometimes, if I try to use the power locks, I'll get a clicking noise coming from the glove box area.
What on earth? The only thing I can think I did differently was to park with the parking brake on. Car is an automatic if that matters.
