"Strong" vibration is a relative term, but the 2.3 LPT is more prone to vibration at idle than the V-6 (which is no paragon of smoothness, either!). I have noticed this on several 2.3 LPT's I have driven (all with less than 6k miles). I found it objectionable in a car of this class which is why I went with the SE.
Is the level of vibration getting worse? Your best bet is to see if your dealer will let you drive another one and compare the two.
