If you can ensure that you won't get caught in snow, then it might be possible. I have Pirelli P6000's on 17 inch rims, and these are great for dry and wet roads. However, their tread pattern simply doesn't cut it for snow. I bought the snow tire package (16 inch rims and tires -- I cannot remember what they are right now) from the dealer. We haven't had enough snow in CT for me to comment on how well they do, but a simple comparison in treads between the snows and high performance tires is all that you need for you to know that the high performance tires are not going to do well in the snow.
