Rear camber shims install question?

Hello,
I just got a call from a service station doing an alignment on my 9-5 today and they had questions on how to install the shims, as the guy doing the alignment has never seen shims before for these cars. The best I could tell him was they go on around the wheel hub area? I had purchased 4 .6mm and 2 .mm shims to cover as many combinations as possible based on saabnet feedback.
The reply back was, if they go on the hub, he'll have to remove the caliper and rotor to get access to the hub and he's wondering if he'll have to keep taking off the parts if he needs to add/remove any shims for any further adjusting. Which sounds labor intensive to me and I'll probably get charged extra for this.
Just wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should tell the alignment guy on how to handle the shims install? He said he would look into it further and get back to me if he had any questions today.
If there's a brief description I could give him on how to install the shims that someone may know about, It would be very much appreciated...
Thanks,
