I believe it's 1 MPH per tick. At least it's 1.6 km/h here.
You can also keep the switch pressed as long as you like to make the car accelerate/decelerate until you release the button. It would be nice to have a few programmable buttons to be able to change from 50 km/h to 80 or 100 or 120 km/h with one button only.
