My wife had mentioned a noise sometimes when turning over the past week or so, and this weekend on a trip I started hearing a noise while idling. Then Sunday morning as I backed out of my parent's garage, there was a large puddle of power steering fluid on the floor. We bought a bottle of fluid to get me back home, and so far it seems to be doing OK, but I can't get seen until Thursday. I should have seen this earlier, but I am worried as to how this could happen with a car with only 13,000 miles on it. My 99 Sedan hasn't had any problems, but a quick search on the bb turned up a number of people with steering problems.
I assume it is safe for short trips as long as the fluid doesn't get very low again?
