I also got the "service theft alarm" message 2 weeks ago, and the siren keep sounding on the following very cold Saturday night. I spent 1 hour to remove the alarm module and then researched on this forum for best solution. I followed the idea of CR123 is best match of CR17335, but of course I can't find a CR123 with solder tab on internet either. In the end, I ordered CR123 and 2/3A size battery holder from digikey. It costs me around $20 (the S/H fee is higher than the battery+holder). Last week, I spent another hour to solder the holder and put the battery back. The space is pretty tight for the battery with holder, you have to push a little bit to assemble the module back and resealed the module. Personally, I think this solution will have very better weatherproof capability than a remote battery pack. I will put the module back to car this week, and hope it can last as the original design.
